Are you anxious about replacing all your starches with whole grain options? It may help to think about substituting refined grains with grain-free options, too. Here is a tasty, easy to create, family-friendly breakfast pancake that is sure to please any whole-grain-resistant mouths!

Beth's Real Food Grain-Free Pancakes

Serves 6 A delicious alternative to grain-based pancakes for breakfast! Grain-free and so tasty!


1 cup almond meal

1 egg

½ cup milk (almond, coconut or any variety)

½ tsp pure vanilla extract

1 tsp extra virgin olive oil

Optional: dark chocolate chips, unsweetened coconut, fruits eg. blueberries, bananas or unsweetened applesauce, natural nut butter (eg. almond, peanut)


In a bowl, pour all the above ingredients. Whisk to combine.


Place baking pan on medium high heat.


Spoon batter (about 2 tbsp each pancake) onto pan.


When the top starts to bubble, flip the pancake and cook about another 30 seconds.


Place on serving plate and enjoy!
