Go-to Breakfast Ideas

   “ Go-to breakfast”

Mornings can be hectic and overwhelming and preparing a healthy breakfast may seem undoable .A good idea is to shop and prepare in advance so that you have a quick and nutritious go -to breakfast as soon as you wake up.. Here are some delicious and nourishing breakfast ideas that either require no preparation or can be prepared in advance:

* 6-8 oz plain low fat yogurt and ½ cup home-made granola (recipe below)

*Cut up fruit and low-fat cottage cheese (prepare fruits evening in advance)

*Slice Ezekiel bread with 1 Tbs Pb and apple

*1 packet oatmeal with and ½ cup milk and ½ c berries

*1 cup toasted oats with a cup low fat milk and banana

*6- 8 oz plain low fat yogurt with a banana and TB pb

*Fruit shake: Fruit and milk or 6-8 oz plain yogurt (combination of ½ banana and 1 cup mixed berries or ½ banana and 1 cup other fruit

*Almond flour waffle 6-8 oz low fat yogurt(recipe below)

*2 hard boiled eggs on slice whole grain bread (cook eggs a night before)

*Greek yogurt and Tbs. sunflower seeds and 1 Tbs raisins

*overnight oats (recipe below)

Overnight oats:

½  cup old fashioned oats

1 cup milk



½ cup berries of choice

1 Tbs. nuts of choice



1) Combine milk and oats in jar or container and refrigerate overnight

2) Add toppings before meal



Home- made granola


2 cups old fashioned oats    

½ cup raw nuts (any)

¼ cup sunflower seeds

2-3 Tbs. maple syrup or raw honey

½ tsp vanilla extract

1 pinch sea salt


1) Pre heat oven to 300

2) Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl. Use hands to mix.( May be sticky but that’s fine !)

3) Spread mixture in a thin layer on baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10 minutes

4) Cool and place in airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 2 weeks


Almond flour waffles

1 cup almond flour

1 pinch salt

1tsp. baking soda

4 eggs

¼ c honey

1 tsp vanilla extract

Cooking spray


1) Prepare dry mixture ingredients in advance and refrigerate

2) Add liquid ingredients and mix until smooth

3) Spray skillet or waffle iron with cooking spray and cook and let cook until golden
