Why #stayhome 2020 Was Good For Your Weight
I know, it’s a crazy statement.
Forced to stay home for 3 or more months-
the chaos that ensued-
waiting for the opportunity to come up for air-
becoming a multi-tasker with jobs you didn’t ask for (like a teacher!)
and with both hands tied behind your back from limited resources
(wifi clogging, device shortage, no gyms, and limited groceries!!),
and I’m saying there was good in that?!
What was one best thing to come out of it,
that we found with our BWN Method, and new clients coming in especially?
WE CAN NO LONGER DENY,
AND IT BECAME CRYSTAL CLEAR TO THE MOST CHRONIC YO-YO’S
THAT FAD DIETS,
BLACK AND WHITE DIET PLANS,
ALL OR NOTHING ATTITUDES-
DO. NOT. WORK.!!
while people were stripped of most things and scenarios many thought they had to have in order to lose weight
because it’s what they new from their singular diet plan-
a diet never teaching or learning a strategy based on real-life scenarios-
a lack of a how-to guide on what to do in any scenario that comes your way-
with the inability to purchase “diet foods” or ingredients to make their exclusive recipes necessary to complete someone’s plan-
or simply because they had other priorities burying them
and similar challenges because of the stay home quarantine-
all made everyone realize
HOW INEPT DIETS REALLY ARE!
Not only are fad diets not effective long term,
or even the short time when life throws you for a loop,
it actually can be DETRIMENTAL to your weight from the rapid swings as life changes happen,
and what a MENTAL JOB that does on your confidence, self-worth, and relationship with food too!
black and white diet plans,
being handed a piece of paper of what you can and cannot do,
good and bad foods,
or food products you must and only can eat,
doesn’t deal with ALL the other areas of wellness that affect your weight.
How many people during quarantine gained weight not even because of food or hunger,
but become stress and emotional eating kicked in strong?
How many people stopped drinking water, stopped moving altogether because their diet plan never addressed these as a priority,
or at worst,
the GOAL should always be finding a SUSTAINABLE plan that not only works, LONG TERM,
but as we see now,
a strategy that can be flexible enough,
that you can hold onto foundational principles,
in any situation,
with any limitation,
and STILL get a result,
even if it’s maintenance (as some can admit, most likely those on a fad diet gained weight during quarantine),
but ALSO possible to continue on their weight loss path as well.
It’s about a plan that focuses and teaches you about ALL areas of wellness,
so when 1 or more fall short in whatever scenario,
there are other areas you can put more effort into
and STILL get a result.
one amazing revelation to come out of forced quarantine?
There is no more denying,
that at some point,
(now being the best opportunity)
to break-free of fad diets for good,
and find plans that actually work in ALL scenarios.
I know, this “logical” outlook isn’t sexy,
like the niche marketing a fad diet sells,
but it sure does make sense.
And the more a plan makes sense,
the more likely it actually works.
